Stanford @Sea 2024 students boarded the Robert C. Seamans today that was docked in Tahiti, after having sailed with the prior class over the past month from the waters off New Zealand to Tahiti. The ship looks great, having recently undergone an extensive maintenance period and 24 Stanford students gleefully stepped aboard. These students have put in a long five weeks of classes at HMS, learning oceanography and maritime history as well as nautical science, and have earned this trip aboard the RCS! Today we learned about the vessel and the watch system, and began to bond as watches! Tomorrow we cast off the lines and start the path toward discovery!
