Today, I sailed into the sun.
Deep cobalt waters pooled off the infinite curvature
of mother earth
leaking into an unknown abyss superceding her edges.
A massive celestial body waited patiently in the distance
little by little inching up towards the horizon.
Comforting peachy haze cast stripes of illumination in my foreview
exuding the utmost presence with its humble majesty.
Deprivation -
ceasing to exist.
This orange creamsicle lay gently
captivating the attention of anyone lucky enough to catch a glimpse.
No words spoken.
Yet, so much said.
I dream to command an existence as intoxicating as such.
Clouds, ominous at first, soften.
Melting into the sky
as a newborn baby nestles into its mother's arms for the first time.
Instinct.
As if these dense aggregates of moisture
counted down the time to begin this daily ritual.
Glowing underbellies spread their warm goodness upwards
until soon
all that was one separate
is now perfectly muddled -
unified under the collective.
I wonder if he knows of his beauty.
Seconds pass by. Then minutes.
I look up to see what was once a vast expanse glittered with tiny white speckes
submit to just one.
Dawn turns to day.
And eventually, day to dusk.
Oh, how I can't wait to sail into the sun again tomorrow.
